I arrived as CEO of the ITC Travel Group in January 2020, having spent many years in the industry. I’m also Chair of ACC Aviation and Traveltek, along with being Vice Chair of JDRF, which funds vital research into type 1 diabetes.
I’ve been amazed by the passion, commitment and expertise shown by the people who have made ITC so special. The business is coming up to its 50th year and every member of the team embodies these wonderful values that inspired me to become a part it. Along with being talented, what struck me most about them was the relentless attention to detail, along with a genuine care for clients, suppliers, partners and each other – while having a lot of fun along the way.
For me, travel, exploration and freedom are an innate part of human nature. We’re so much richer for the things we see and experience, rather than the things we possess. Travel embeds cherished lifelong memories and leaves footprints in our lives as we cut off from the inevitable repetition of daily life.
Fittingly for a company whose heritage is rooted in the Caribbean, Antigua is one of my favourite destinations – I even took my own honeymoon there. I also love exploring South East Asia, mixing cities with rich culture, unique sights, sounds and smells and the beautiful beaches. The people there are also so welcoming and positive, too, you can’t help but feel inspired.
